Allison Hartry is a board-certified labor and employment law specialist with over a decade of experience in employment litigation and workplace rights. She has handled complex cases involving retaliation, discrimination, wage disputes, and hostile work environments. Allison regularly represents both individuals and businesses in employment-related legal matters, guiding them through high-stakes lawsuits and compliance issues.
Allison earned her B.A. in History with High Honors from Swarthmore College in 2007. She later received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2012. During law school, she held editorial roles with the California Law Review and the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law & Justice. She also interned with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and took part in legal clinics advising clients on their rights.
Allison began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Vanessa D. Gilmore in the Southern District of Texas. Her practice now includes labor law, employment law, non-competition disputes, and business litigation. She has counseled clients through Department of Labor audits and Texas Workforce Commission matters, as well as drafted and reviewed severance agreements and non-compete clauses.
Allison’s legal work includes successful representation in major federal cases, such as Anderson v. Valdez and Casanova v. Gold’s Tex. Holdings Grp., Inc.. She has argued motions, won summary judgments, and secured favorable outcomes under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Recognized by San Antonio Magazine and Scene in S.A., Allison has earned repeated honors for excellence in labor and employment law.
Allison Hartry currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Texas Fair Defense Project. She has written widely on employment law and civil rights topics, with articles published in prominent legal journals. Her writings address issues such as immigration, gender in law, and wrongful termination.
