Thomas J. Mew IV has extensive experience handling employment law matters across state and federal courts. His work includes wage-and-hour disputes, harassment and discrimination cases, and contract-related claims. He has also represented clients before the United States Supreme Court, playing a role in the significant Bostock v. Clayton County decision.

Tom earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia, School of Law. While there, he was part of the school’s national championship moot court team, gaining valuable advocacy skills that shaped his legal career.

Tom began his practice by clerking for respected judges in both the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He later gained broad litigation experience at a large Atlanta law firm before choosing to focus his work on employment law. His practice now combines courtroom advocacy with counseling on employment contracts, noncompete issues, and severance agreements.

Tom has written widely in the field. He co-authored Georgia Motion Practice and Georgia Employment Law and contributed to Employee Benefits Law (3d Ed.). His writing provides practical guidance to lawyers and judges on key aspects of employment and civil procedure. His work has also been recognized with professional honors, including being named a Rising Star in 2006, 2007, and 2009, recognition as a SuperLawyer for 2025, and the Stonewall Bar Association’s Conspicuous Service to the Stonewall Community Award in 2020.
