Anthony R. Pecora has built a career of more than 25 years in law, starting in 1998 as a magistrate for the Lorain County Domestic Relations Court. In that role, he guided hearings, pre-trials, and legal research to resolve disputes. By 2001, he moved into private practice and in 2013 was named a Director.
Anthony earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toledo, where he studied Secondary Education with a minor in Political Science and History. He later received his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1998. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio and the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio.
Anthony’s work includes divorce, dissolution, adoption, custody, child support, visitation, property division, alimony, shared parenting, and contempt proceedings. He also handles related issues such as real estate division, asset valuations, retirement planning, and taxes in domestic cases.
Anthony’s practice also extends beyond family law into litigation, mediation, business law, corporate conduct, employment matters, public entities, and cemetery law. His broad knowledge allows him to guide clients through both private disputes and corporate or municipal concerns, offering balanced legal strategies for varied issues.
Anthony R. Pecora also serves as the elected Law Director for the City of Amherst, Ohio, where, since 2007, he has advised the Mayor and City Council on legal issues that impact the city’s administration and residents. Anthony contributes to the legal community through writing and speaking. He was featured in the Cleveland Jewish News on June 14, 2024, for an article about working with experienced divorce lawyers. On September 16, 2024, he presented “Overcoming Discovery and Evidence Obstacles in Family Law” at the NBI Seminar, sharing insights on challenges in handling evidence and discovery. He has also been recognized through honors such as inclusion in Super Lawyers® and the Best Law Firms Ranked by Best Lawyers United States 2024.
