Steven G. Hill

Steven G. Hill is the co-founder of Hill, Kertscher & Wharton, LLP, where he represents clients in high-stakes intellectual property and business litigation. His international practice spans Fortune 500 companies, high-profile individuals, and start-ups, with victories in matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, fraud, civil RICO, franchisor-franchisee disputes, and unfair competition. He has secured more than $100 million in verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Steven earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University in 1991 and his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1994. While at Vanderbilt, he was one of three students named to the national moot court team and earned recognition as Best Speaker at the 1993 National Health Law Moot Court Competition. His early background in public speaking and debate provided the foundation for his courtroom advocacy and trial success.

Throughout his career, Steven has managed over 250 cases nationwide, including more than 100 patent infringement disputes. His notable successes include defending Moe’s Southwest Grill, LLC and its founder against fraud and RICO claims brought by 54 franchisees, resulting in a trial victory in federal court. He has also handled cases of exceptional complexity, including one involving 261 defendants and another addressing the assertion of 25 patents against five corporate clients.

Steven G. Hill has been repeatedly recognized for his achievements. He has been named to Super Lawyers, Georgia Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite, The Best Lawyers in America®, and IAM Patent 1000, which has listed him as one of the world’s top patent lawyers since 2014.
