Stephanie C. Kucera

Stephanie C. Kucera is a partner whose practice focuses on professional liability, healthcare law, insurance matters, business management, contracts, and employment issues. She advises clinics and independent practitioners throughout Central Oregon and represents individual professionals, business owners, clinics, and hospitals. Her work includes medical and legal malpractice defense, licensing and regulatory matters, employment litigation, healthcare privacy and HIPAA compliance, and liability claims involving long-term care providers.

Stephanie earned her J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2011. She received a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Montana in 2006 and a B.A. in psychology, French, and Spanish from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2002. Her background in psychology and clinical development supports her ability to analyze complex medical records, understand professional standards, and address the technical issues that arise in healthcare and professional negligence cases.

Stephanie began her legal career in Missoula, Montana, after working as a litigation consultant while attending law school. She later practiced for five years across Montana, concentrating primarily on medical negligence and medical device litigation. Her broader professional background includes work as a neuropsychology postdoctoral associate and in clinical development. She is admitted in Oregon, Montana, and Washington state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Oregon and Montana.

Stephanie C. Kucera has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Civil Litigation: Defense in 2018 and 2020 and received Cascade Business News’ Accomplished Under 40 Award in 2018. Her professional involvement includes membership in several state and defense counsel organizations, along with prior service on the Montana Trial Lawyers Association’s board of directors.
