John C. Taylor

John C. Taylor is a trial lawyer at Taylor & Ring in Los Angeles who represents plaintiffs in high-stakes civil litigation. His practice includes serious personal injury, wrongful death, sexual abuse, civil rights and police misconduct, products liability, insurance bad faith, and employment matters. Taylor has tried more than 140 cases to verdict, giving him extensive courtroom experience in cases involving catastrophic injuries, institutional misconduct, and complex liability issues.

Taylor earned an A.B. from Ohio University in 1974 and a J.D. from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 1977. He was admitted to the State Bar of California later that year. Taylor’s representative work includes a $57.5 million verdict in an insurance bad faith case arising from a fatal aviation accident, a $35 million verdict for a woman sexually abused by a high school coach, and a $10 million wrongful death verdict involving the LAPD. His cases have also produced published appellate opinions addressing childhood sexual assault claims, employment discrimination and retaliation, premises security, police pursuits, and other significant civil issues.

John C. Taylor has received recognition from major trial-law organizations and legal publications. He has been named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and Verdictum Juris, selected repeatedly among leading plaintiff lawyers in California, and inducted into the Lawdragon Hall of Fame in 2026. Taylor is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Attorneys.
