Sheli Fulcher Koontz

Sheli Fulcher Koontz is a respected Idaho attorney and the Managing Partner of Johnson May, where she provides concierge legal services designed to help clients navigate the courts and secure long-term stability for themselves and their families. Practicing since 2002, she focuses on family law, estate planning, probate, personal injury, and mediation, and is also an adjunct professor of family law at the University of Idaho College of Law in Boise.

Sheli earned her B.S. in molecular biology from Northwest Nazarene College before completing a graduate degree in forensic sciences at Marquette University. She then earned her J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law. This academic foundation, spanning science and law, provides her with a unique perspective on problem-solving and client advocacy across complex legal matters.

Sheli’s career includes founding Fulcher Koontz Law PLLC in 2008 and later joining Johnson May in 2018. She served as President of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association from 2015–2016, one of only four women to hold that role in over fifty years. She has also been an active member of the Idaho State Bar and the United States District Court since 2002, contributing significantly to the legal profession and advancing access to justice.

In addition to her legal practice, Sheli Fulcher Koontz is deeply involved in community service. She has long been a member of the Junior League of Boise and serves on the Mountain West Council Boy Scout Troop 94 committee. She also supports Life’s Kitchen, a nonprofit that empowers young adults through life skills and vocational training. Her combination of professional leadership, teaching, and community involvement reflects a career committed to advocacy, mentorship, and service.
