Philip R. Bruce is a shareholder at McAfee & Taft in Oklahoma City, where he represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. His practice covers workplace compliance, litigation defense, wage and hour issues, non-compete enforcement, and federal regulatory matters. He also handles complex civil litigation, including trade secrets and contract disputes.
Philip earned his Juris Doctor with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 2011. While in law school, he served on the Oklahoma Law Review, competed on the national mock trial team, and was a member of the Order of Barristers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of Kentucky.
Philip advises employers on compliance with Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and other labor regulations, and frequently defends them before federal and state courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies. He also provides proactive counsel on policies, handbooks, employee discipline, drug testing, immigration I-9 compliance, and social media protocols.
Philip’s litigation experience includes securing multi-million-dollar judgments for employers in trade secret and employment contract cases, defending against FLSA collective actions, and resolving administrative charges with the EEOC. He also represents clients in industries ranging from healthcare and manufacturing to oil and gas and tribal entities.

Bruce is also a co-author and editor of the Midwest Employment Law Letter and co-author of the Oklahoma Employment Law: Practice and Forms Manual.
