About
Perry Weitz, Esq., is the co-founding member of Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C., and one of America’s most respected trial lawyers. For nearly four decades, he has championed the rights of individuals harmed by asbestos exposure, defective medical devices, toxic environmental conditions, and corporate negligence. Known for his bold advocacy and compassion for victims, Weitz has helped secure more than $17 billion in verdicts and settlements nationwide, setting new standards for mass tort and personal injury litigation.
A graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, Weitz began his career representing union workers diagnosed with mesothelioma and asbestos-related diseases. His early success in achieving a landmark $75 million verdict for shipyard workers established him as a formidable advocate for victims of industrial harm. Over the years, his litigation leadership has expanded to include high-profile cases involving dangerous pharmaceuticals, defective implants, and large-scale environmental disasters such as the BP oil spill and MTBE groundwater contamination.
In addition to his trial achievements, Weitz has served as lead negotiator in numerous complex settlements and as a trustee in over 30 asbestos bankruptcy trusts, helping to establish more than $25 billion in funds for current and future victims. His expertise and dedication have earned him recognition as a Super Lawyer, Best Lawyer, and “Titan of the Plaintiff’s Bar” by Law360, along with the prestigious Clarence Darrow and Champion of Justice Awards.
Beyond the courtroom, Perry Weitz is deeply involved in philanthropy, supporting children’s hospitals, geriatric care, and mesothelioma research. His lifelong commitment to justice continues to inspire generations of attorneys dedicated to defending the public against corporate misconduct and protecting the rights of ordinary Americans.
