About
Arthur M. Luxenberg is the co-founding member of Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C., one of the nation’s premier plaintiff law firms. Since founding the firm in 1986 with Perry Weitz, he has remained committed to providing compassionate, individualized legal service to every client. His leadership has helped transform the firm into a nationally recognized powerhouse in mass torts, asbestos litigation, defective drugs, environmental cases, and consumer protection.
Arthur Luxenberg earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.A., with highest honors, from Yeshiva College. His early legal accomplishments included pivotal appellate work such as Hymowitz v. Eli Lilly & Co., which upheld laws allowing asbestos and DES victims to pursue claims after the statute of limitations had expired. This landmark case cemented New York’s reputation as a leading jurisdiction for mass tort litigation.
As the firm’s managing partner, Arthur oversees large-scale settlements, operations, and governmental affairs while guiding more than 100 attorneys and 400 legal professionals. Recognized as a “Best Lawyer” and “Super Lawyer” for over a decade, he was named 2013 Mass Tort Litigation Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America. His professional affiliations include leadership roles in the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the New York County Lawyers Association.
A devoted philanthropist, Arthur Luxenberg dedicates his time to charitable and educational causes, serving as chairman of United Soup Kitchens and the North Shore Hebrew Academy. His lifelong commitment to justice, ethics, and community defines both his legal career and his enduring impact on the lives of countless clients and families nationwide.
