Terry Dodds

Terry Dodds began building his legal path after growing up in the Bloomington-Normal area, developing early ties to the community he would later serve as an attorney. His career reflects steady growth across personal injury, workers’ compensation, and criminal defense, guiding clients through lawsuits, hearings, and negotiations with practical strategies and clear communication.

Terry began his academic journey by earning an Associates Degree from Sauk Valley Community College, followed by a B.A. – Illinois State University in Criminal Justice. He later completed his J.D. at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, building the foundation for the analytical and advocacy skills he applies in his legal work today.

Terry first gained courtroom experience with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office, where he defended both misdemeanor and felony clients and tried his first cases. He then expanded his skill set in private practice, handling personal injury, workers’ compensation, and medical malpractice matters. During this time, he also argued an appeal before the Southern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Terry Dodds now focuses on helping individuals facing injuries, workplace accidents, and criminal charges by offering clear guidance and solid preparation. His long-standing involvement with professional groups, including the Illinois State Bar Association and the McLean County Bar Association, reflects his commitment to maintaining strong professional standards while supporting clients who rely on him during challenging legal situations.
