Lynn Fitch

Lynn Fitch serves as Mississippi’s 40th Attorney General and the first woman to hold the position. With more than three decades of distinguished legal and public service experience, she has dedicated her career to advancing justice, promoting accountability, and ensuring fair governance for the people of Mississippi.

Raised in Holly Springs, Lynn earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi. Beginning her legal career at just 23, she served as a Special Assistant Attorney General before entering private practice as a bond lawyer. Her strong educational and professional foundation shaped her commitment to principled legal service.

Before her election as Attorney General, Lynn served as Mississippi’s State Treasurer from 2012 to 2020, where she championed fiscal responsibility and transparency. Earlier in her career, she led the Mississippi State Personnel Board under Governor Barbour’s appointment and held leadership roles with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security and the House of Representatives’ key legislative committees.

Nationally recognized for her leadership, Lynn has served on the executive committee of the National Association of Attorneys General and previously as vice president of the National Association of Treasurers. Her many accolades include the Outstanding Woman Lawyer of 2012, the Mississippi Bar Woman Trailblazer recognition, and the Susie Blue Buchanan Award for professional excellence.

Beyond her public roles, Lynn Fitch remains deeply involved in community service, supporting organizations such as First Responders of Mississippi, Goodwill Industries, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the American Red Cross. Her leadership, vision, and lifelong dedication to service continue to inspire progress and integrity within Mississippi’s justice system.
