About
Ken Paxton serves as the 51st Attorney General of Texas, known for his steadfast commitment to upholding the U.S. Constitution and protecting Texans’ rights. A proven leader, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication to preserving America’s founding principles while championing justice and state sovereignty through bold, decisive actions.
Educated at Baylor University, Ken earned both his B.A. in psychology and M.B.A. before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1991. Early in his career, he practiced law with Strasburger & Price, LLP, and later served as in-house counsel for J.C. Penney Company, gaining valuable experience in both private practice and corporate law.
As Attorney General, Ken has led significant legal battles to protect Texas from federal overreach. His office filed multiple lawsuits on issues including environmental regulation, health care, and immigration. Under his leadership, a 26-state coalition successfully halted an unlawful federal immigration plan. He also established a unit to combat human trafficking, defended consumers from predatory practices, and safeguarded privacy rights during major corporate cases.
Before assuming his current office, Ken served in the Texas House of Representatives for a decade and later in the Texas Senate. Throughout his legislative career, he defended religious liberty, advanced voter ID protections, and promoted pro-life initiatives. His consistent advocacy for free enterprise and opposition to burdensome regulations have helped make Texas a model of economic strength and opportunity.
Ken Paxton continues to lead with conviction, protecting Texans’ freedoms and ensuring that state and federal powers remain balanced under constitutional law. His tenure reflects both a respect for tradition and a forward-looking vision for the state’s legal and economic future.
