About

Katie Curry is a dedicated trial lawyer who fights for victims in complex and impactful cases. She focuses on holding institutions and corporations accountable in situations involving sexual assault, wrongful police shootings, and fatal high-speed pursuits. Her work consistently leads to meaningful change and justice for individuals and their families.

Katie began her journey into law with a strong desire to make a real difference. She has represented survivors of sexual assault harmed by failures in corporate oversight and helped families after tragic encounters with law enforcement. Katie’s cases have involved medical malpractice, severe vehicle collisions, and failures in workplace safety across various industries.

Katie earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and French from the University of Nebraska. She later earned her Juris Doctor, achieving Dean’s List honors and joining the Order of the Coif, a distinction given to top law graduates for academic excellence.

Katie’s work has led to systemic changes that protect future victims. Her advocacy contributed to new prison health policies, updated emergency training in hospitals, and improved family communication standards in nursing homes. Each of her cases aims not just to recover damages, but to fix dangerous systems and prevent future harm.

Katie’s commitment to justice extends beyond her cases. She served eight years on the Civil Uniform Jury Instruction Committee, including two as chairperson. She also helps lead the New Mexico Trial Lawyers continuing education committee, organizing training for lawyers across the state. Katie played a role in the passage of the New Mexico Civil Rights Act, expanding access to justice for government wrongdoing.

Katie Curry continues to build lasting relationships with clients and bring powerful change through her work. Her approach combines legal skill, compassion, and a belief that the law should work for everyone. Whether standing up to corporations or government agencies, she remains focused on protecting people and improving systems through every case she takes on.
