Julio C. Romero is a committed attorney who advocates for individuals impacted by negligence, abuse, and civil rights violations. Julio received his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2014. While in law school, he earned multiple academic honors, including the Dean’s Award and recognition for excellence in legal writing and clinical practice. Following graduation, he served as a judicial clerk for Justice Edward L. Chávez of the New Mexico Supreme Court.
Julio focuses his legal practice on personal injury, wrongful death, vehicle collisions, children’s rights, civil rights cases, sexual abuse matters, and insurance bad faith claims. He is deeply involved in litigation and handles appeals in both state and federal courts. Fluent in Spanish and English, he provides accessible and responsive counsel to diverse communities.
Julio has been acknowledged by his peers as a standout legal professional since 2018. His experience includes serving as a special prosecutor addressing the backlog of sexual assault cases and contributing to civil liberties efforts as part of the ACLU of New Mexico’s legal panel. He also educates future professionals on topics such as legal ethics, professionalism, and immigrant rights.
Julio remains active in public service through leadership roles, including board membership with the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center and presidency of a nonprofit health clinic in Albuquerque. He also contributes to legal policy through his role on the Amicus Committee of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and maintains membership in the American Association for Justice.
