About
Jonathan Golden is a Partner in the Corporate & Finance practice with more than 40 years of experience guiding publicly-held and private companies through significant business transactions. He advises on mergers and acquisitions, going-private transactions, and equity and debt financings. He also counsels boards of directors on corporate governance and fiduciary duty matters across multiple industries.
Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University before receiving his Bachelor of Laws from Harvard Law School. He is admitted to the State of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the United States Supreme Court. His academic background supports his long-standing work in corporate and securities law.
Jonathan has taken more than a dozen companies from startup to listing on the New York Stock Exchange. He led the public offering of Sysco Corporation and guided the company through more than 100 acquisitions and numerous additional public offerings. He also served on Sysco’s board for more than three decades, providing leadership on governance matters.
Jonathan has handled complex transactions, including representing Moovies Inc. in a $100 million merger of 10 video rental companies that went public at closing. He also structured the sale of the operating company of a large Atlanta-based grocery chain while coordinating a real estate spinoff and leaseback arrangement.
Jonathan Golden has been recognized with the Deals of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award by Atlanta Business Chronicle and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® for Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions Law. He has also been ranked by Chambers USA and IFLR1000 for his work in corporate and mergers matters.
