Jody M. Florence is a seasoned labor and employment attorney who has represented employers for over two decades. She advises on compliance, litigation defense, and arbitration, guiding clients through complex matters involving executive decisions, workplace investigations, and employment law disputes in state and federal courts.
Jody earned her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from The Ohio State University, receiving distinction in Criminal Justice. She later obtained her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of the Law Review. Her academic success laid a strong foundation for her legal career.
Jody began her practice in Baltimore as a litigator before transitioning to exclusive employer representation. She helps clients with preventive strategies such as policy development and employee training. She also handles sensitive issues involving the ADA, FMLA, and executive-level employment matters with precision and insight.
Jody has extensive experience in labor arbitration, successfully representing both public and private employers. Notably, she won a pivotal decision in Michael Thomas and John Armstrong v. City of North Las Vegas, reinforcing the power of arbitration in dispute resolution within Nevada and beyond.
