Jeremy T. Christensen

Jeremy T. Christensen is a partner at Baird Holm LLP, focusing his legal practice on employee benefits and executive compensation compliance. He advises public and private employers on a broad range of ERISA matters, including retirement plans, deferred compensation, equity incentives, ACA compliance, and health and welfare benefit issues.

Jeremy earned his Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 2011 and an M.B.A. from Creighton University College of Business in 2012. He also holds a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina. He is admitted to practice in both Nebraska and Iowa.

Jeremy works closely with businesses, governmental agencies, and nonprofits to navigate tax, fiduciary, and regulatory challenges. He has extensive experience with retirement plan corrections, IRS and DOL audits, COBRA compliance, and benefits planning in mergers and acquisitions. He also advises third-party administrators on regulatory matters and client servicing protocols.

A frequent speaker on employee benefits law, Jeremy has recently presented on fiduciary duties, COBRA pitfalls, and annual compliance updates. He is a member of The ESOP Association and is active in regional forums on benefits law and employment practices. His thought leadership contributes to employer readiness on rapidly evolving benefit regulations.

Jeremy served as Chair of Baird Holm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee from 2018 to 2023. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for MENTOR Nebraska and the Nebraska Legal Diversity Council. His recognitions include being named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2019 and a “40 Under 40” honoree by Midlands Business Journal.
