David E. Gottlieb is a committed employment lawyer who represents individuals facing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and abuse in the workplace and beyond. He is known for pursuing justice in complex legal matters involving sexual misconduct, gender inequality, and systemic workplace failures. David has helped thousands of clients across various industries obtain accountability and fair treatment.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arizona and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
David focuses heavily on gender discrimination cases, including sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, and equal pay violations. He has taken action against discriminatory workplace cultures, including “boys club” environments, and has represented clients in industries such as finance, healthcare, fashion, education, media, and technology.
David has played a key role in several high-profile, nationally recognized discrimination and employment law cases. He represented five women in a landmark gender discrimination lawsuit against NY1 and served as a lead attorney in the class action lawsuit against the NFL over racial bias in hiring practices. David also fought for a senior Goldman Sachs attorney who was terminated after reporting misconduct and has led multiple race discrimination cases against CVS.
David has earned repeated recognition for his legal work. Since 2014, he has been named to New York Metro Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. He has been listed among the Lawdragon Leading Employment Lawyers since 2019. In 2021, he was honored as a Titan of the Plaintiff’s Bar and is recognized in the 2021–2025 rankings for labor and employment litigation.
David E. Gottlieb continues to champion justice for those mistreated at work and beyond, offering experienced legal representation with compassion and determination. David extends his legal support through pro bono efforts, representing Jewish students experiencing antisemitism and serving an LGBTQ advocacy group. He also worked with The Innocence Project, where he helped halt the execution of a wrongfully convicted man through DNA evidence.
