J. Philip Davidson

Philip Davidson is a seasoned litigator with decades of experience defending clients in transportation, insurance, employment law & litigation, and product liability matters. He has represented clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation across more than 30 states. With extensive trial experience, including high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death cases, he is widely regarded for his ability to manage complex disputes and lead effective defense strategies in diverse industries and jurisdictions.

Davidson earned his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in 1990 and his B.S. in Political Science from the University of Kansas in 1987. He is admitted to practice before the Kansas and Missouri Supreme Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and federal district courts in Kansas and Missouri. His education and admissions provide a strong foundation for his national litigation practice.

Davidson leads multiple litigation practice groups, including transportation, food and hospitality, insurance, and construction. He also heads the firm’s Critical Occurrence Response Team, managing catastrophic events such as motor carrier accidents, fires, explosions, workplace incidents, and mass torts. His national coordinating counsel work includes food safety litigation, product contamination, and defense of restaurant franchises, where he has developed strategies to mitigate risk and manage complex, multi-jurisdictional claims.

Philip Davidson is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and is annually recognized in Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He is active in ALFA International and the International Association for Food Safety, serving in leadership roles for hospitality and food safety practice groups. Through decades of courtroom experience and industry insight, he continues to deliver strategic representation for clients facing high-stakes litigation and regulatory challenges nationwide.
