About
Gedney M. Howe IV is a third-generation attorney who proudly carries forward his family’s long-standing tradition of advocacy and justice. His practice is dedicated to representing victims in personal injury cases, where he has already secured meaningful verdicts and settlements. He approaches each matter with determination, handling complex claims against powerful corporations.
Gedney completed his undergraduate studies at Winthrop University, earning a B.A. in Political Science in 2017. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2020. While pursuing his legal education, Gedney gained valuable insights through clerkships and legal assistant roles in both civil and criminal law settings, building a strong foundation for his litigation career.
Gedney’s early professional experience included clerking for Senator Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A., where he worked on civil and criminal defense cases. He also served as a law clerk with Hall Booth Smith, P.C. in Charleston, gaining exposure to insurance defense, and as a legal assistant at McGowan, Hood, & Felder, LLC, where he supported civil litigation. These diverse roles strengthened his ability to advocate effectively for clients in challenging legal disputes.
Gedney M. Howe IV is admitted to practice in South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is an active member of the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the ABA Young Lawyers Division, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice.
