About

Rayiner Hashem is recognized for his work in patent disputes, appellate advocacy, and wide-ranging civil litigation. He has represented clients in cases involving intellectual property, telecommunications, energy, and large-scale class actions, frequently appearing in matters before federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court and multiple Courts of Appeals.

Rayiner earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology before beginning his career as a software engineer in wireless technology research and development. He later pursued legal studies, graduating magna cum laude with a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where he also served as Associate Editor for the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property.

Rayiner gained significant judicial experience early in his career. While in law school, he clerked for Commissioner Meredith A. Baker at the Federal Communications Commission, developing insight into federal regulatory processes. These roles provided him with a valuable perspective on appellate litigation and administrative law.

Rayiner has argued and contributed to numerous influential matters. His work includes cases addressing patent royalty rates, disclosure obligations in standards-setting organizations, and the doctrine of patent exhaustion. He has also been involved in litigation over net neutrality regulations, federal energy market rules, and telecommunications oversight. Beyond intellectual property, he has represented parties in antitrust, mass tort, and fiduciary duty litigation, consistently advocating in complex, high-stakes disputes.

Rayiner Hashem continues to build a practice centered on combining technical knowledge with strong legal advocacy. His background in engineering and software, paired with courtroom and appellate experience, allows him to guide clients through disputes involving innovation, regulation, and advanced technologies with precision and skill.
