Elisa Angeli Palizzi

Elisa Angeli Palizzi is a seasoned commercial and intellectual property litigator with a focus on trademark litigation and prosecution. She represents clients ranging from multinational corporations to emerging businesses, managing trademark portfolios both in the United States and internationally. Her practice spans trademark selection, clearance, prosecution, negotiation, and litigation.

Elisa earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 1994 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, class of 1989. Her academic and legal training have contributed to her deep expertise in protecting brands across diverse industries.

Elisa litigates complex intellectual property and commercial disputes in U.S. District Courts, Courts of Appeals, Michigan Circuit and Appellate Courts, and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). She also represents clients in cross‑border and international matters before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), providing strategic, business‑focused counsel across multiple jurisdictions.

Before joining Miller Canfield, Elisa served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Avern Cohn in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. That experience helped sharpen her litigation skills and understanding of federal court practice.

Elisa Angeli Palizzi’s honors include recognition by Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation since 2013 and Leading Lawyers since 2017. Elisa is active in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and the Federal Bar Association, where she served as President of the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter from 2009 to 2012.
