Dustin Nirschl is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Municipal and Bankruptcy practice groups, representing both public and private clients in all stages of litigation. His work includes advising on complex business disputes, bankruptcy matters, and creditors’ rights, with particular experience in Chapter 11 proceedings and non-dischargeability actions. He provides strategic counsel that helps clients navigate high-stakes legal challenges efficiently.
Nirschl earned his J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where he served on the City of Irvine Planning Commission and Green Ribbon Environmental Clinic, gaining firsthand experience in municipal decision-making and environmental issues. He also participated in the school’s Environmental Law Clinic and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Scott C. Clarkson, a bankruptcy judge in the Central District of California. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Nirschl has represented trustees, debtors of all sizes, and municipal and private creditors in bankruptcy cases across California, Texas, and Delaware. His experience covers every stage of bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, and extends to related business and public agency disputes. He is admitted to practice in the Central, Southern, and Northern Districts of California, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Before joining Best Best & Krieger LLP, Dustin Nirschl practiced as a litigator at the Turoci Law Firm, where he developed his bankruptcy litigation skills. His practice now integrates municipal law insight with bankruptcy and business litigation experience, offering clients a broad perspective on complex legal issues. Recognized in Southern California Rising Stars for Bankruptcy: Business in 2023 and 2024, Nirschl is active in the legal community and committed to delivering high-quality representation. He serves clients with precision, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of both public and private sector needs.
