Trisha H.S.T. Akagi

Trisha H.S.T. Akagi is a partner recognized for her work in high-stakes litigation across diverse areas of law. Her practice includes bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, water resources, non-competition covenants, and representation of educational institutions. She has appeared before administrative agencies, trial courts, and appellate courts, handling matters that require skilled advocacy and careful strategy. In addition to her litigation work, she serves as Vice Chair of the Litigation Department and on the Recruiting Committee.

Ms. Akagi earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai‘i. She also completed a J.E.M.B.A. at the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai‘i and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. Her education in both law and business provides a strong foundation for her practice and enhances her ability to advise clients effectively.

Ms. Akagi’s combined training and experience allow her to deliver strategies that address both the legal and practical aspects of complex disputes. Trisha H.S.T. Akagi is admitted to practice in Hawai‘i, the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawai‘i, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is an active member of the American Bar Association, Hawaii State Bar Association, and American Bankruptcy Institute. She has also served on the board of the Hawai‘i Bankruptcy Bar Association, further demonstrating her leadership and dedication within the legal profession.
