Deirdre M. Robinson is a partner at Robinson & Cole LLP and co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate + Development group. She represents developers, owners, and nonprofit and for-profit organizations in affordable housing real estate development. Her work focuses on complex mixed-use and multifamily housing projects, with an emphasis on tax credit syndication, creative financing structures, and transactions that support safe, quality, affordable housing.
Robinson earned a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. from Boston University, where she graduated cum laude. Her academic background provides a strong foundation for analyzing real estate transactions, financing structures, and development issues. This training supports her ability to guide clients through projects involving public and private funding, subsidy loan programs, and tax credit financing.
Robinson has handled significant affordable housing and historic redevelopment matters involving state and federal funding sources. Her experience includes the Clippership Wharf redevelopment in East Boston, the acquisition and financing of a historic school building in Southbridge, and a multi-phase historic department store redevelopment in Rochester. These matters involved Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, tax-exempt bond financing, workforce housing proceeds, and other public and private resources.
