Christian R. Everdell is a Partner at Cohen & Gresser in New York, where he leads the U.S. Privacy & Data Security group and plays a central role in the firm’s White Collar Defense & Regulation and Litigation & Arbitration practices. He represents individuals and corporations in criminal prosecutions, regulatory matters, and complex civil litigation.
Christian earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University. He is admitted to practice in New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Christian’s experience includes prominent representations in cases involving DOJ, SEC, OFAC, FINRA, and the Manhattan DA’s Office. He focuses on securities fraud, FCPA, money laundering, OFAC sanctions, digital assets, and data privacy issues. Notably, Christian served as trial counsel in high-profile cases, including those involving Sam Bankman-Fried and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Before joining the firm, Christian spent nearly a decade as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York, serving in the Complex Frauds and Cybercrime Unit and the Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit. He earned national recognition and multiple awards for his work, including honors from the FTC and the Federal Drug Agent Foundation.
