Mark S. Cohen, Esq

Mark S. Cohen is a founding partner of Cohen & Gresser and serves as the managing partner of the firm’s New York office. He heads the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration and White Collar Defense & Regulation practices, where he represents clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, securities and employment litigation, antitrust matters, and complex regulatory and white collar investigations.

Mark earned his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as a Note Editor of the Law Review. He holds a B.A. from Cornell University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is admitted to practice in New York and before key federal courts in the state and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

With nearly 25 trials to verdict, Mark maintains an active litigation and trial practice. His career includes landmark victories, including complete acquittals in SEC insider trading and FCPA matters. He served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York and has led major monitorships, including a federal oversight role for the largest fire department in the U.S.

Mark has received continuous recognition from Chambers USA, The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Lawdragon. He is described as “an outstanding strategist” and “a formidable trial lawyer” by clients and peers alike. In 2023, Super Lawyers ranked him among the top 10 lawyers in the New York metropolitan area.
