Boris I. Mankovetskiy is a Member of the Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Reorganization Practice Group, concentrating on complex corporate restructurings, Chapter 11 proceedings, and out-of-court workouts. He represents official creditors’ committees, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, investors, and other parties-in-interest in high-stakes insolvency matters across diverse industries.
Boris earned his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Montclair State University before receiving his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law. His academic achievements laid the groundwork for a career dedicated to navigating the financial and legal complexities of distressed businesses, while providing clients with both legal and strategic counsel.
Boris focuses a large part of his practice on healthcare insolvency and bankruptcy, representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in 27 hospital and healthcare provider cases across the country. His national healthcare restructuring experience includes major matters such as Saint Michael’s Medical Center, Hahnemann University Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Randolph Health, and many other facilities, underscoring his deep expertise in one of the most complex and highly regulated sectors for financial restructuring and turnaround.
In addition to healthcare, Boris has guided clients through restructurings in various industries, including telecommunications, real estate, retail, manufacturing, transportation, construction, and pharmaceuticals. He has represented investment management firms in Chapter 11 matters, workouts, and debt restructurings, including in the Motor Coach Industries International and Marcal Paper Mills bankruptcies. Beyond bankruptcy, Boris also represents clients in complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts.
