Oleh Matviyishyn is an associate concentrating his practice on bankruptcy, financial reorganization, and creditors’ rights. He assists clients with navigating Chapter 11 proceedings, corporate restructurings, and related insolvency matters. Oleh’s work combines legal analysis and practical strategies to help clients address challenges tied to financial distress and complex debt issues.

Oleh earned his Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University before completing his Juris Doctor, cum laude, at Rutgers Law School. While in law school, he served as Senior Notes Editor for the International Law & Human Rights Journal and gained early exposure to restructuring practice as a 2021 Summer Legal Intern with Sills Cummis & Gross. These academic and professional experiences helped him develop strong research, writing, and advocacy skills that continue to inform his work.

Before joining the firm as an associate, Oleh served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stacey L. Meisel in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. In this role, he drafted bench memoranda, opinions, and orders on issues central to bankruptcy law. This experience provided him with valuable insight into judicial reasoning and enhanced his ability to advise clients effectively in bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

Admitted to practice in New Jersey, Oleh Matviyishyn also brings linguistic skills that strengthen his client service, being fluent in Ukrainian and proficient in Russian. His diverse background enables him to communicate across cultures and better understand the unique needs of clients. With his combination of clerkship training, academic distinction, and practical experience, he delivers careful guidance and effective representation to clients navigating complex financial and restructuring challenges.
