Michael Savetsky is Of Counsel in the Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Reorganization Practice Group. He concentrates his work on creditors’ rights in large Chapter 11 cases and financial restructurings. He represents creditors’ committees, secured and unsecured creditors, vendors, customers, and other parties involved in reorganization proceedings across diverse industries. His practice also extends to debtors, lessors, asset purchasers, plan administrators, and trustees in bankruptcy-related litigation and restructuring disputes.
Mr. Savetsky earned his B.A. from Ramapo College of New Jersey before obtaining his J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law. His academic success reflects a strong foundation in legal research, analysis, and writing. Early in his career, he clerked for the Honorable Menelaos W. Toskos in the Superior Court of New Jersey, an experience that provided practical training and exposure to complex litigation matters at the start of his legal journey.
Before joining Sills Cummis & Gross P.C., Mr. Savetsky practiced at Lowenstein Sandler, where he gained significant experience in bankruptcy and restructuring law. Over the years, he has advised clients in high-stakes Chapter 11 cases and represented both creditors and debtors in disputes involving financial reorganizations. His ability to navigate the complexities of bankruptcy litigation makes him a valuable resource for clients seeking clear strategies in challenging restructuring scenarios.
