About
Herman S. Chatrath is an associate at Coleman & Horowitt, LLP, where he serves clients in both litigation and transactional matters. His practice includes business, real estate, construction, estate planning, probate litigation, agricultural law, and labor and employment law. He is dedicated to providing tailored legal strategies that address the specific needs of companies and their owners across California.
Herman earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from California State University, Northridge. He went on to graduate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in May 2022, where he further refined his advocacy and negotiation skills. He successfully passed the California Bar Exam in July 2022, joining the legal profession with a solid academic foundation and practical experience.
While in law school, Herman gained recognition through his active participation in Moot Court, where he placed in the top ten briefs. He also participated on the Transaction Negotiation team, where he negotiated a simulated acquisition involving an $800 million company. These experiences refined his ability to analyze complex legal issues and effectively advocate for his clients’ interests.
Before entering law, Herman built an extensive background in commercial real estate, particularly in asset management. He managed portfolios of large apartment and office buildings and oversaw non-performing notes for a San Diego-based real estate company with assets exceeding $4 billion. This experience provided him with unique business insight that now informs his legal practice.
Herman S. Chatrath also clerked with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Coleman & Horowitt, and McCormick Barstow in Fresno. He leverages his combined business and legal experience to deliver practical, results-oriented counsel to clients navigating complex disputes and transactions.
