Andrea R. Meyer

Andrea R. Meyer is a Partner and Litigation Group Chair at Sussman Shank LLP in Portland. She represents companies and individuals in business and shareholder disputes, commercial actions, construction litigation, real estate and land use matters, employment disputes, railroad matters, and other complex civil cases. She works with clients to evaluate objectives, pursue negotiated resolution when appropriate, and prepare for hearings, arbitration, administrative proceedings, and trial when disputes require formal adjudication.

Meyer earned a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and a B.S. in Psychology and Social Science from Portland State University. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked as an accountant for a construction-based supplier. That business experience gives her practical insight into company operations and construction-industry issues, while her legal education supports the analysis, advocacy, and procedural knowledge needed to manage commercial, construction, employment, and real estate disputes.

Meyer has served as first-chair trial counsel in business and wrongful-death cases and has handled trade secret, contract, fiduciary duty, foreclosure, construction lien, boundary, employment, and railroad disputes. Her representative work includes obtaining jury verdicts, arbitration awards, summary judgment, and complete defense verdicts. She also defends railroads in Federal Employers’ Liability Act matters and has provided pro bono assistance to individuals seeking protective orders under Oregon abuse-prevention and stalking statutes.

Andrea R. Meyer has been recognized by Oregon Super Lawyers for Business Litigation and previously as a Rising Star. She is admitted in Oregon and Washington and before several federal courts, including the Ninth Circuit. Her litigation practice combines business understanding with trial experience, helping clients assess risk, negotiate where possible, and present strong positions in court or arbitration when disputes cannot be resolved through agreement.
