Anthony A. Mahan

Anthony A. Mahan is the founder and Managing Attorney of Mahan Law in Bellevue, Kentucky. His practice focuses on veterinary law, including practice acquisitions, startups, in-house counseling, litigation, ownership transitions, and related business matters. He represents veterinary and dental clients across the country and brings direct business-owner perspective to his legal work through experience helping operate a multi-doctor veterinary practice.

Mahan earned a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, an M.B.A. from Northern Kentucky University, and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Kentucky. He is also a Certified Valuation Analyst through the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. That combination of legal, business, finance, and valuation training supports his work on practice sales, acquisitions, business structures, disputes, and financial issues affecting professional practices.

Before founding his firm, Mahan served as a law clerk to Justice Wil Schroeder of the Kentucky Supreme Court and worked as a commercial litigation associate. At Mahan Law, he advises on veterinary practice acquisitions and sales, mergers and acquisitions, leases, entity formation, employment issues, contracts, management arrangements, and practice litigation. He also presents continuing education programs on legal topics affecting veterinary professionals and practice owners.

Anthony A. Mahan has served as an adjunct professor of business law at Northern Kentucky University’s College of Business and has received recognition from the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 in Kentucky. He is admitted in several states and federal courts. His practice combines transaction experience, litigation skills, business education, and valuation knowledge to help veterinary and dental professionals manage ownership, growth, and legal risk.
