About
Zackeree S. Kelin is a founding partner at Davis Kelin Law Firm, where he represents clients in high-impact cases involving medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, civil rights violations, insurance bad faith, Indian law, and complex personal injury litigation. He is widely recognized for his leadership and success in litigating significant cases throughout New Mexico.
Zackeree earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa. During law school, he clerked with the Native American Rights Fund and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, gaining foundational experience in Indian law and civil rights. He is also a graduate of Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College, a program known for developing elite trial advocates.
Zackeree began his legal career with DNA-People’s Legal Services, the largest and oldest legal aid organization in Indian Country. There, he represented low-income individuals, tribes, and nonprofits in tribal, state, and federal forums on matters ranging from environmental protection to civil rights and advocacy for sacred sites.
Zackeree has served in numerous leadership roles, including as a Commissioner on New Mexico’s Civil Rights Commission, which helped lead to the enactment of the New Mexico Civil Rights Act. He currently serves as a special prosecutor in the Second Judicial District. He sits on the boards of the Native American Disability Law Center, New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, and the Caddo Nation Economic Development Authority.
Zackeree S. Kelin has secured over $100 million in settlements and verdicts, including several of the largest in New Mexico history. His published legal opinions span tort law, Indian law, and public records access. He is a member of the American Association for Justice Leaders Forum and the University of Iowa Alumni Leadership Council. His work continues to shape New Mexico’s legal landscape.
