Kathleen T. Ahghar brings decades of hands-on real estate experience and legal insight to her clients. She focuses on litigation involving property disputes, landlord-tenant matters, contract issues, foreclosures, collections, condemnations, and employment law. Her comprehensive background supports clients facing both transactional and litigation challenges.
Kathleen began her academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with distinction from the University of New Mexico in 1992. She later earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2014. That same year, she was admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico, the United States District Court, and the Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico.
Kathleen initially practiced law in the private sector, representing lenders in foreclosure and creditors’ rights litigation. She then served the City of Albuquerque’s Planning Department, where she managed agreements involving city-owned properties, including commercial leases, purchases, easements, evictions, and condemnations. She also represented key city boards on legal matters.
Kathleen returned to private practice in 2019, expanding her work to include litigation in various real estate and contract-related areas. Her focus includes homeowner association disputes, replevin actions, and landlord-tenant cases. Her employment law practice addresses workplace disputes and legal concerns involving both employers and employees.
Kathleen T. Ahghar has helped a wide range of clients resolve complex property and contract issues. Her legal approach is informed by over 25 years in the real estate industry, giving her a practical edge in negotiations and litigation. Her membership in the Albuquerque Bar Association further reflects her engagement with the local legal community.
