About

William H. Jordan is a partner at Alston & Bird, based in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., where he co-chairs the firm’s global litigation group and Healthcare Industry Team. His practice focuses on business litigation, government and internal investigations, False Claims Act (FCA) matters, and corporate compliance for healthcare, technology, and life sciences clients.

Jordan earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1995 and holds a B.A. from Rhodes College (1992). In 2016, he completed executive legal training through Harvard Law School’s Leadership in Law Firms program, which enhanced his leadership in complex legal environments and large-scale litigation coordination.

Jordan previously served in senior roles within the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division and the Associate Attorney General’s office, overseeing nationwide litigation and investigations. Upon returning to Alston & Bird, Jordan represented the State of Georgia in the U.S. Supreme Court during Texas’s 2020 election challenge and advised a key witness before the House January 6th Committee.

Jordan represents a wide array of healthcare stakeholders, including hospitals, managed care companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, telehealth providers, and health IT firms. He has led clients through high-stakes federal and congressional investigations, compliance assessments, class actions, and corporate integrity proceedings. His work includes five years as an independent compliance monitor for a multinational pharmaceutical company.

Barred in Georgia and the District of Columbia, Jordan has litigated every U.S. judicial circuit across 30+ states. His accolades include rankings in Chambers USA (Band 1 for Healthcare, Band 3 for White-Collar Crime) and consistent inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation since 2013.

William H. Jordan also demonstrates deep civic engagement, serving on boards such as the Atlanta Police Foundation and Families First, and formerly chairing the Georgia State Ethics Commission. His combination of regulatory insight and litigation acumen makes him a trusted legal advisor for critical industry challenges.
