William A. White

William A. White is the managing attorney and founder of South Sound Law Group in Tacoma, Washington. With over 40 years of experience, he has built a strong reputation as a dedicated and effective criminal defense lawyer. He has helped many Washington residents, visitors, military members, and tourists facing criminal charges such as DUI, assault, domestic violence, drug possession, theft, and firearm violations. In addition to criminal defense, William provides legal services in personal injury cases, vacating criminal convictions, restoring firearm rights, and wrongful conviction suits.

William earned his J.D.s from the University of Puget Sound School of Law and Seattle University School of Law. He also holds a B.A. from the University of Washington.

William began his career at the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office, and he later started his private practice, William A. White, PLLC, which he successfully ran for more than 30 years before founding South Sound Law Group with his children, Matthew and Erin White. He and his team regularly handle both criminal and civil matters throughout western Washington, demonstrating care and effective advocacy recognized across the community.

William A. White is highly respected by judges and prosecutors throughout Washington. He has served as a Judge Pro Tem in Pierce County District Court and several municipal courts.
