Troy P. Anderson

Troy P. Anderson is a skilled patent attorney whose career bridges advanced research and intellectual property law. His background in engineering and optics allows him to understand complex technologies and tailor effective legal solutions.

Troy first earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He continued his academic journey with a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Optics from the College of Optics at the University of Central Florida. He later received his Juris Doctor, graduating with high distinction, from the University of Nebraska College of Law, where his writing was recognized with multiple honors.

Troy began his career in advanced engineering research before transitioning to law, serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and later a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. There, he led and collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to develop cutting-edge laser-based technologies for real-world applications, including medical devices, surface treatment, electrolysis, and self-cleaning materials. His technical work has produced more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, numerous conference presentations, and three patents as a co-inventor.

Troy applies this technical depth to his legal practice, using his experience as a researcher to identify novel aspects of inventions, evaluate their integration with existing technologies, and design intellectual property strategies suited to available resources. His approach emphasizes clarity, precision, and alignment with inventors’ goals, making the patent process more effective and accessible for those he represents.

Troy P. He was also inducted into the Order of the Coif for outstanding academic performance. In addition, he is admitted to the Nebraska Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
