Troy Bentson

Troy Bentson is a Shareholder at Browning Kaleczyc Berry & Hoven P.C, where he handles business law, real estate, construction, development, homeowner association matters, employment defense, and civil and commercial litigation. With more than 20 years of experience, he advises businesses and individuals on transactions, disputes, and operational concerns. His litigation practice includes contract, real estate, construction, collections, employment, landlord-tenant, insurance subrogation, and related commercial matters in Montana courts statewide.

Troy earned his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law and his B.S. in Business Administration from Eastern Montana College. Before entering law, he worked for a Fortune 200 company in Seattle, applying his business background in an environment. After law school, he returned to Montana and entered private practice in Bozeman. He joined Browning Kaleczyc Berry & Hoven P.C as a shareholder in 2008, continuing his business-focused legal practice.

Troy advises corporate clients on business entity selection and assists with forming limited liability companies, partnerships, and corporations. He also counsels businesses on records, contracts, debtor-creditor disputes, purchases and sales of entities and assets, and operational matters. His real estate work includes purchase agreements, landlord-tenant issues, mixed-use development, construction contracts, liens, performance disputes, and homeowner association formation, collections, and dispute resolution for buyers, sellers, developers, landlords, investors, managers, and lenders.

Troy Bentson counsels employers on workplace compliance, employment agreements, employee benefit programs, and matters involving applicants, current employees, and former employees. In litigation, he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in Montana state and federal courts. He uses arbitration and mediation when those forums offer an efficient path to resolution. He is admitted in Montana and North Dakota state and federal courts and maintains a practice combining transactions, counseling, litigation, and resolution.
