About
Allison A. Ito is a partner whose practice centers on business bankruptcy, reorganization, bankruptcy litigation, and commercial real estate foreclosure. She also handles complex business and real estate litigation, as well as collection law. Notably, she has pursued preference claims on behalf of the Chapter 7 Trustee in In re Aloha Airlines, Inc., and guided clients through multi-million-dollar commercial property transactions.
Ms. Ito earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington in 1998. She went on to graduate cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii in 2004. During law school, she served as Casenote Editor of the University of Hawaii Law Review and authored a published article addressing privacy and genetics. Her early career included an externship with Federal Magistrate Judge Leslie Kobayashi and practice as an associate with a Honolulu mid-sized law firm.
Admitted to the Hawaii Bar in 2004, Ms. Ito is active in professional associations, including the Hawaii State Bar Association, Hawaii Bankruptcy Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, and the American Bar Association. She has also held leadership roles such as Director of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the HSBA. Through these roles, she has contributed to advancing bankruptcy law practice and supporting the professional development of fellow attorneys.
Beyond her legal career, Allison A. Ito is deeply engaged in community service. She serves as a Director of Kama`aina Kids and has been an active member of the Aloha United Way’s Society of Young Leaders, including co-chairing its Outreach Committee. Her dedication to civic leadership reflects her broader commitment to strengthening both her profession and her community.
