About
Tomas L. Gacio is a seasoned personal injury attorney and board-certified civil trial lawyer with a career spanning more than three decades in Florida. Throughout his extensive legal journey, he has successfully represented clients across the state, achieving significant verdicts and settlements for those injured in automobile, trucking, workplace, and medical malpractice cases. His skill and professionalism have earned him widespread respect from both judges and fellow trial attorneys.
Tomas began his legal path after earning his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in 1982. He later graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from Washburn University of Topeka, School of Law in 1989. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1990, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle District of Florida. His double board certification—as a Civil Trial Lawyer by both the Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy—reflects his exceptional expertise and commitment to legal excellence.
Tomas’ early career included service as an Assistant State Attorney in Polk County, Florida, where he handled more than fifty jury and non-jury trials. He later represented major insurance companies such as Allstate, State Farm, and GEICO, gaining valuable insight into their defense strategies. For the past decade, he has focused exclusively on representing injured clients, using his insider knowledge to advocate effectively against insurance tactics designed to minimize compensation.
Tomas L. Gacio continues to fight passionately for justice on behalf of accident victims throughout Florida, offering his clients not only deep trial experience but also the compassion and determination needed to achieve fair outcomes. Tomas’ professional recognition includes being honored as a Super Lawyer in 2024, inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, and maintaining an AV Preeminent® rating by Martindale-Hubbell since 2017. Tomas has also been recognized as a Lawyer of Distinction in Civil Litigation and is a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a distinction held by less than one percent of U.S. attorneys.
