Thomas McGuire

Thomas McGuire is an accomplished criminal litigator with 35 years of legal practice. He has tried hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases to a jury verdict. Known for his strong courtroom experience, he has built a reputation for fighting for his clients as if they were family.

Tom earned his BA from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He also earned his law degree from Widener School of Law, Wilmington. His education helped prepare him for a long legal career that began in civil litigation and later grew into extensive criminal courtroom practice.

Tom first developed his litigation skills in the civil arena. He worked as co-counsel on week-long products liability and medical malpractice jury trials. These early experiences helped him build trial skills, courtroom confidence, and the ability to prepare carefully for serious and complex legal matters.

Tom later became a prosecutor in Southern New Jersey during the 1990’s. In that role, he prosecuted major cocaine seizure cases along a strip of highway known as “cocaine alley.” This work gave him valuable insight into prosecution methods and criminal case strategy.

Tom moved to Pensacola, Florida, after 10 years of practice. While working in the public defender’s office, he tried murder, sexual battery, and white-collar crime cases to a jury verdict. These cases strengthened his criminal defense experience and shaped his direct courtroom approach.

Tom describes himself as “battle hardened” in the criminal courtroom. His years of trial work have helped him handle serious felony and misdemeanor matters with focus and preparation. He uses that experience to stand beside clients facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
