James C. Meservy

James C. Meservy has built a respected legal career through decades of dedication, integrity, and strong service to clients across Idaho. Raised in rural Lincoln County and born on a farm, he developed a practical approach to problem-solving and a strong work ethic early in life. His background continues to shape the way he handles legal matters today.

Jim earned a B.S. from the University of Idaho in 1975 before completing a Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho School of Law in 1979. His education provided a solid foundation for a legal career focused on helping individuals and families through challenging legal situations. He has remained closely connected to the University of Idaho College of Law through advisory service.

Jim focuses his practice on civil litigation, divorce and family law, adoptions and terminations, wills and estates, personal injury and wrongful death, and criminal defense matters. With more than 35 years of legal experience, he has handled a wide range of disputes and legal concerns while guiding clients through important personal and financial decisions with care and attention.

Jim has also taken active leadership roles within the legal community throughout his career. He served as past Commissioner and President of the Idaho State Bar and was also a Past President of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section. In addition, he has remained involved with professional organizations, including the Family Law Section and the 5 th District Bar Association.
