Teri Doepke

Teri Doepke is the founder of The Doepke Law Firm, LLC, where she represents clients in Covington and surrounding Georgia communities. She focuses her practice on criminal defense, DUI defense, family law, and traffic matters. She defends clients facing misdemeanors, felonies, major felony charges, probation violations, drug allegations, weapons charges, and white-collar accusations. She further assists families with divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, guardianship, and legitimation matters.

Teri earned her law degree from the UGA School of Law in 1999. She previously graduated with honors from the University of Georgia with a degree in Sociology. She began her career in small firms, where she gained experience in family law and criminal defense. She entered public defense in the Alcovy Circuit in 2005. She became Chief Assistant Public Defender within one year, leading teams and handling demanding criminal cases.

Teri draws on her public-defense background when she evaluates evidence, police procedures, witness accounts, and possible constitutional issues. She helps clients understand court procedures, legal risks, and available strategies without relying on unnecessary legal jargon. She is a member of the National College for DUI Defense. She completed its NHTSA-approved Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course, strengthening her ability to challenge unreliable testing and flawed procedures.

Teri Doepke brings more than two decades of courtroom experience, local knowledge, and community involvement to her practice. She received the Newton County Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Titan Award for her leadership and community impact. She is known for listening without judgment, explaining each step plainly, and preparing focused strategies around each client’s circumstances.
