Jason A. Steinberger

Jason A. Steinberger is a New York criminal defense attorney at the Law Offices of Jason A. Steinberger, LLC, with offices in Manhattan and the Bronx. He represents adults, juveniles, organizations, and businesses facing misdemeanor and felony charges in New York state and federal courts. Steinberger earned his J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2001 after receiving his B.A. from Binghamton University in 1998. While in law school, he received the George and Sadie Kruik Award and Scholarship for outstanding performance in trial advocacy. His legal education and courtroom training provided a strong foundation in criminal law, evidence, case preparation, and persuasive advocacy. He was admitted to practice in New York in 2002.

Before entering private criminal defense practice, Steinberger served as an assistant district attorney in Bronx County. Working in the Trial Bureau, he prosecuted violent felonies and misdemeanors involving both adult and juvenile defendants. He also served as liaison to Bronx County Family Court and represented New York State in juvenile offender prosecutions. This prosecutorial experience gives him insight into how criminal cases are investigated, charged, and presented, helping him anticipate the government’s strategy and identify important factual and legal issues.

Jason A. Steinberger has also contributed to legal education and community programs. He served as an adjunct professor at Hofstra Law School, teaching trial advocacy and applied evidence, and helped junior high and high school students develop courtroom skills through criminal trial competitions. In December 2005, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office honored him for his service in criminal law.
