Elena Fast

Elena Fast is the founding and managing partner of The Fast Law Firm, P.C. in New York City. A former felony prosecutor, she represents individuals in serious federal and state criminal matters, including fraud, conspiracy, violent crime, sex offense, narcotics, firearms, money laundering, tax, and cybercrime cases. Her practice covers investigations, grand jury proceedings, bail hearings, trials, sentencing, appeals, and post-conviction matters. She also advises clients facing professional, immigration, reputational, and financial consequences connected to criminal allegations.

Elena graduated first in her class from the College of Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston and completed part of her undergraduate coursework at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. She earned her law degree through the evening division of New York Law School, where she participated in Moot Court while working full time for the U.S. Department of Labor. Her education in business, finance, and law supports her analysis of complex evidence, financial records, and document-intensive criminal cases.

Before founding Fast Law, Elena served for six years in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office and concluded her tenure as a Felony Assistant District Attorney. She handled thousands of criminal matters, presented more than 200 cases to grand juries, and prosecuted serious felonies from investigation through trial. She later became managing partner of a Madison Avenue white-collar defense firm. Elena has tried more than 25 federal and state cases to verdict as lead counsel and has obtained full and partial acquittals in select matters.

Elena Fast is admitted in New York and New Jersey, before the U.S. Supreme Court, and in multiple federal appellate and district courts. She belongs to the Federal Bar Council, the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the New York Criminal Bar Association. Fluent in Russian, she regularly represents Russian-speaking clients in the United States and internationally. Her prosecutorial, financial, investigative, and trial experience helps her identify weaknesses in the government’s case and prepare focused defenses for high-stakes criminal proceedings.
