About
Susan J. Mundahl is a Maple Grove, Minnesota family law attorney, founder, and president who has practiced since 1988. She represents clients in divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, post-dissolution matters, and related family disputes. She also serves as a qualified Rule 114 mediator, helping couples address parenting, support, and property division concerns through structured negotiation. Her work emphasizes practical guidance, reduced conflict, and decisions that protect children’s well-being.
Susan earned her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 1988. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Northwestern College in 1984. Her education provided a foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, negotiation, and family law procedure. Her training supports her ability to explain court requirements, prepare legal documents, assess settlement options, and help families navigate emotionally difficult transitions with informed legal guidance.
Susan has more than 36 years of experience assisting families through contested and cooperative divorce matters. She created a lower-cost online divorce class that helps self-represented individuals understand Minnesota court forms and basic filing procedures. She also provides scrivener services for couples who have reached mutual agreements and need those terms prepared and electronically filed. Her mediation practice helps clients pursue reasonable agreements concerning custody, parenting time, support, and property.
Susan J. Mundahl was named Attorney of the Year by Central Minnesota Legal Services and the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Tenth Judicial District in 2008. She served on a Minnesota Supreme Court committee supporting the Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project from 2020 through 2022.
