Steven E. Katten has built a reputation for serving older adults and their families with care and legal skill. With over four decades of legal experience, he focuses on elder law, estate planning, probate, guardianship, and Medicaid planning. His work has helped countless individuals find peace of mind through personalized, forward-thinking legal strategies.
Steven earned a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University, graduating cum laude in 1975. In 1978, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law, where he graduated with honors. Steven is board certified in both Estate Planning and Probate Law and Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, marking his deep knowledge in these complex fields.
Throughout his legal career, Steven has consistently advocated for the elderly and their families. He has served in leadership roles with Guardianship Services, Inc., the Tarrant County Agency on Aging, and Sixty and Better. He is also a member of the Mayor’s Commission on Persons with Disabilities, continuing his public service and commitment to vulnerable communities.
Steven’s recognition includes being named a Texas Monthly Super Lawyer in Elder Law for over a decade, an honor granted to a small percentage of attorneys statewide. He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Tarrant County Probate Bar Association, reflecting his professional engagement and ongoing learning.
