About

Monica Ann Benson is a Certified Elder Law Attorney with nearly two decades of focused legal experience. She assists individuals and families in handling a wide range of elder law matters, including estate planning, probate, guardianship, and Medicaid planning. Her goal is to guide clients through life transitions with clarity and legal confidence.

Monica began her academic journey at Texas A&M University, earning her B.A. in History in 2002. She continued at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2005. Her commitment to excellence led her to achieve certification as an Elder Law Attorney through the National Elder Law Foundation in 2012.

Monica’s legal career includes drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney; helping families through probate when a loved one passes; and navigating guardianship issues for both minors and adults. She also advises clients on Medicaid planning strategies to protect assets while maintaining eligibility for long-term care benefits.

Beyond legal representation, Monica contributes to the future of the profession. She has taught Elder Law as an Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University School of Law since 2013. She also helped launch a practical Wills and Estates Clinic, training students to apply legal knowledge to real-world situations.

Monica frequently shares her knowledge at professional seminars. She has presented on topics such as Medicaid and IRAs, guardianship complexities, and elder law best practices. Her dedication extends into pro bono service, including leadership roles with the Trinity Episcopal Foundation and the Van Cliburn Foundation.

Since 2005, Monica Ann Benson has been an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Tarrant County Probate Bar Association. She is licensed to practice in Texas and is known for her compassionate, client-centered approach to elder law challenges.
